Week 2: Demo continues

We have gotten to the "unsexy" part of the demo.  Painstakingly removing nails, bits of insulation and remnants of flooring and tile.  It's also at this time where we can see the "mistakes of renovations past".  I'm not sure who did the HVAC in this house, but the first photo shows why not a lot of air was getting to the second floor!

The carpenter was in to measure and specify all of the steel beams and the fabricator is working to deliver them next week.

Week 20: Trim carpentry progress

Trim carpentry continues to progress and impress.  I like the black hinges and handles Sharon has chosen.  Now that the doors are hung, the upstairs is really taking shape.

Week 23: Landscaping and kitchen

Lorin, the front landscape contractor, was busy this past week getting all of the elements measured and laid out.  By the end of the week, the front steps were in, as was the grass! Inside, Fred, the installer from Marcon Kitchens came in exactly on schedule and started the installation of the kitchen.  He works alone, quietly and efficiently and has been doing a great job.

Week 25: Finishing touches part 1

Ingrid came in today to install the three wall murals in the kid's rooms as well as the wallpaper in the powder room.  Pretty cool murals!  Can I get a Star Wars one?!
